Microsoft is testing File Recommendations in Windows 11 Explorer

Microsoft announced a new build of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23403, which has become available in the Developer Channel. Among other things, it introduced a new functionality in the File Explorer, namely File Recommendations. It does exactly what its name suggests: it shows on the File Explorer home page certain files that the system “thinks” you might want to open.

Currently, this functionality is only available to some “insiders” and only works if you use an account in Azure Active Directory (so it is only aimed at Windows 11 business users for now) – then it will recommend files in the cloud storage, your personal or those to that you have shared.

It looks like Microsoft isn’t sure about the feature yet, as it notes that it plans to “monitor feedback and see how it lands before pushing it out to everyone.”
