Google Docs and Drive get an updated interface

Google has started releasing a refreshed interface for Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, which should comply with the design rules of Material Design 3. The company notes that in terms of functionality, this step brings almost nothing new, but should make the interfaces simpler and “cleaner”.

In addition, the developer promises improvements in commenting and design in Docs, Sheets and Slides, batch operations with files and additional search tools in Drive, etc.

The update will roll out gradually, with Google promising that the updated interface will roll out within 15 days for users in Quick Access domains, and everyone else should get it by March 25.
