Razer has released the BlackWidow V4 Pro keyboard with a bunch of extra keys
In recent years, there has been a trend to reduce the size of mechanical keyboards, but Razer decided to go the other way and presented the BlackWidow V4 Pro model. It has a full-sized layout, plus a bunch of extra keys that can be programmed for use in various games and applications.
So, in the left part of the keyboard you can see five macro keys. Next to them, there are three additional keys on the left side. On the upper right, there is volume control, under which four more buttons were located. By default, they are responsible for managing media files, but their functions can be customized. And next to the Escape key, you’ll find a rotary button that you can use to switch between different apps or perform other functions.
BlackWidows V4 Pro supports the Chroma RGB platform, so you can synchronize the keyboard backlight with other gadgets and running games. When you turn on the computer, or when you connect the keyboard to the PC, you will be greeted by a backlight animation. By the way, the complete hand rest also has RGB illumination.
The keyboard comes with the company’s signature yellow (linear and silent) or green (tactile, with a perceptible click) switches. Razer claims the switches can withstand up to 100 million clicks, just like the next-generation Cherry MX switches. The polling rate is 8000 Hz, which should theoretically minimize input lag. Keycaps are made of ABS plastic.
BlackWidow V4 Pro can be connected to a PC with two USB-C cables. One directly for the operation of the keyboard, and the second, optionally, for the operation of the USB-A 2.0 connector.
The novelty can already be purchased. The cost of the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is $229.99 / €269.99.
