The EU proposes to expand mobile roaming to Ukraine

With the beginning of the full-scale war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine, many Ukrainians were forced to leave, including to European countries. At that time, free roaming for Ukrainians was introduced in most EU countries, which was recently extended for another six months.

Now the European Commission has proposed to expand the roaming to Ukraine. Thus, in the future, Ukrainians will not need to pay extra for roaming services in European countries, as well as Europeans during visits to Ukraine.

“The European Commission proposes to extend the effect of mobile roaming to Ukraine. This is the first instance of an extension of EU internal market treatment to Ukraine,” notes European Pravda.

Currently, the proposal must be considered by the EU Council, and there is no exact information on when this will happen.
