OpenAI announced ChatGPT Plus subscription for $20/month.
OpenAI has long been rumored to be monetizing the use of its ChatGPT AI bot, and now the company has finally officially announced it. Premium subscription costs $20/month, will provide access to the bot even during peak load times when other users have to wait their turn. Also, subscription owners will have to wait less for responses from the bot and will be the first to get access to new features and improvements.
OpenAI notes that the first invites will be received by users who are in the USA and are on the waitlist. Invitations will be sent out in the coming weeks. The company will gradually expand the number of countries and regions.
Launching a premium subscription will allow ChatGPT to remain free for other users, the company says. OpenAI is also considering the possibility of introducing cheaper subscriptions, business plans, etc.
