Nokia will provide Ukraine with 5,000 Wi-Fi routers

Nokia will create a separate group of experts to restore the telecom infrastructure of Ukraine, reported Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

“We are strengthening cooperation with global tech giants. Nokia provides Ukraine with 5,000 routers and will continue to support the development of Ukrainian telecommunications. We agreed on this with Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark in Davos,” Fedorov said.

According to the minister, there are already the first results of cooperation:

“After February 24, we received 1,770 routers from Nokia that provide Internet access to school shelters. A second batch of 3,230 routers will arrive soon. They will allow tens of thousands of children to continue studying safely in school shelters during air raids.”

Also among future projects is the construction of a backbone Internet line across the Black Sea, which will make Ukraine more attractive for such top technology companies as Amazon and Meta.
