Messenger Telegram has officially launched the announced before ability to buy and sell short, recognizable usernames for personal accounts, public groups and channels. The whole process is implemented through the Fragment live auction.
Ownership of Telegram collective names must be secured in the immutable registry of TON, a scalable blockchain network. Owners can add multiple nicknames to their personal account, group, or channel.
Each collection name can be accessed using username in Telegram or outside of Telegram using links such as username.t.me and t.me/username.
Telegram notes that for the first time in the history of social networks, people have full ownership of their usernames. In addition, long-time messenger users who have registered short names can now sell them in decentralized auctions.
