Amazon showed an updated Kindle: with USB-C and a high-resolution display

Amazon has announced the release of a new generation of its basic Kindle model. The e-book has received several significant updates that should increase its popularity because in the last couple of years this device has been difficult to call the optimal choice. In particular, Kindle received an improved display with a pixel density of 300 ppi. For comparison, its predecessor had 167 ppi.

In addition, the new Kindle can boast of increased battery life of up to 6 weeks. But the best thing is that you can now charge the e-book via USB-C – no more microUSB chargers. The capacity of the built-in storage has increased to 16 GB, so the gadget can store thousands of your favorite books.

The dimensions of the Kindle have not changed much: 157.8 x 108.6 x 8 mm, weight – 158 grams. The diagonal of the screen is 6 inches, 4 LEDs are responsible for its illumination. There are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules. You can buy the e-book in Black and Denim colors. The price is $99.99 for the version with ads on the lock screen and $119.99 without ads.

Also in Amazon’s range are the more expensive Kindle Paperwhite (from $139) and Kindle Oasis (from $249) models, which offer larger displays with better lighting and additional functions.
