House of the Dragon became HBO Max’s biggest premiere. It was watched by 9.986 million viewers in the one night after its release in the US alone. For example, the TV series Game of Thrones has a total of more than 19 million views. According to HBO, interest in the original series has also increased greatly since the premiere.

The results should especially please the parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, which recently canceled Batgirl and many shows on HBO Max, and removed hundreds of episodes of Sesame Street. In addition, the company has to compete with Amazon, which is preparing to release the TV series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It will be first released on September 2.
