Tesla’s FSD autopilot will increase in price by 25% in September – it will cost $15,000

Tesla is raising the price of its premium Full Self-Driving driver assistance system. On August 21, the company’s CEO Elon Musk announced that the price of Autopilot will increase by 25% to $15,000. The changes will take place on September 5 after the release of FSD Beta 10.69.2, reports CNBC.

FSD currently costs Tesla owners $12,000, or $199 per month for a subscription. All new Tesla cars come standard with a driver assistance package that includes Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and Autosteer. They automatically keep the car in the center of the lane and allow you to move at the speed of the flow.

Full Self-Driving also features sign control and autopilot navigation. This allows the car to autonomously recognize road signs and slow down, negotiate exits and entrances to the highway with turn signals on, change lanes, and more.

While some of these features are available in the cheaper version of Enhanced Autopilot, only premium subscription holders can request access to the FSD Beta. To get it and keep it, drivers must get a high “safety rating” from the manufacturer.

Despite the “intelligence” of all systems, Tesla urges drivers to remain attentive while driving and to be ready to take control of the car at any moment. We remind you that the company was accused of exaggerating the real ability of autonomous driving. Officials in the United States claim that the descriptions on the site suggest the ability of the car to move independently, without the careful participation of a person.
