The Swedish publishing company Embracer Group continues to buy everything one after the other – it already owns more than a hundred studios, such as Dark Horse Media, Gearbox Entertainment, Saber Interactive or THQ Nordic, and famous franchises (for example, recently Embracer acquired the rights to Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Thief from Square Enix).
And now it has become known that Embracer Group has acquired several more companies (developer of Killing Floor Tripwire Interactive and Limited Run Games) and intellectual rights ownership of Lord of the Rings and Hobbit. This means that it now controls all the movies, video and board games, merchandising, etc. that belong to these franchises.
