Flightradar24 service is unstable due to tensions around Taiwan

There are problems with the Flightradar24 aircraft tracking service. This is due to the unprecedented number of visitors watching US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s plane move to Taiwan.

This afternoon, the number of visitors who observed the aircraft with the call sign SPAR19 reached 330,000 people, which is an order of magnitude higher than the previous service record of 10,000 observers.

The Flightradar24 site now gives the location of Pelosi’s plane, which is near the Philippines and heading towards Taiwan, but hides the altitude and speed of the flight. It is interesting that flight SPAR19 did not fly directly to Taiwan from Malaysia, but bypassed the South China Sea, which the People’s Republic of China considers a zone of its own interests.

Meanwhile, the armed forces of Taiwan and China have been put on the highest level of readiness.
