Windows 11 taskbar will get new functionality
Microsoft continues to improve Windows 11 and regularly expands the functionality of its OS. So, in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25163, which appeared on the developer channel, the company introduced a new function – Taskbar Overflow.
If the taskbar is running out of space due to too many pinned icons or open windows, Windows simply replaces the last icon on the taskbar with the current program. Taskbar Overflow instead adds a button with three dots at the very end of the panel, which opens an additional menu with an “overflow” of icons – very similar to the behavior of the system tray. According to Microsoft, Taskbar Overflow supports pinned apps and jump lists.
In addition, build 25163 also updated the Microsoft Store with improved pricing and game listings, and the sharing menu now supports discovering devices near your computer via Bluetooth and private networks.
