The children were born last November, and in April, Musk, 51, and Zilis, 36, filed to change their names to “have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.” In May, the court approved this request.
According to Insider, Zilis met Musk in 2016 as the director of OpenAI. She is currently the youngest member of the company’s board of directors. It is reported that in 2017 she also became a project director at Tesla. In addition, Zilis serves as director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, where Musk is one of the CEOs, and may join the management of Twitter if Musk does buy the company.
Looks like Musk already has nine children from different partners. However, the main question that this story raises is whether Musk’s companies have a ban on relationships between executives and employees. Most companies the size of Tesla and SpaceX and others have a rule that does not allow colleagues separated by two levels in the chain of authority to date. However, Musk is known for flouting traditional rules.
Having children also creates the risk of lawsuits from Zilis if she decides at some point that Musk has abused his leadership position. So far, Elon Musk has not given a direct answer to the question of whether he really has children with his co-worker. However, he transparently hinted that it was true to his followers on Twitter.
