Ukrainians are tired of the news: the top 25 sites in Ukraine in May 2022

Interest in news and social networks has significantly decreased among Ukrainians. This is evidenced by data collected by the project Kantar CMeter.

In May, all news resources, social networks, and messengers presented in the ranking of popular sites in Ukraine lost coverage. The average frequency of contact with news sites has halved compared to the first months of the full-scale war.

Five most popular news sites in May: (11th place), (16th place), (18th place), (20th) place) and (25th place). At the same time in March these same sites were in 10th, 7th, 15th, 14th and 20th places respectively.

But it is gratifying that after a long break, Ukrainians have returned to online shopping, thanks to which Rozetka, Olx,, and have improved their performance. The leader of the eCommerce segment in Ukraine, Rozetka has finally returned to the top 5 most popular sites.

The resumption of distance learning returned three educational resources to the top 25 at once – (13th place), (17th place), and (21st place).

Job search site returned to the ranking too. took 24th place.

The successful issuance of postage stamps doubled the coverage of the Ukrposhta website (12% of Internet users in May 2022). And although it did not get into the top 25, but overcame 74 steps of the rating (35th place in May against 109th place in March 2022).

“After an abnormal jump in March, when Ukrainians did not understand what would happen in the next few hours, interest in the news has now waned. The use of Telegram, which is also perceived by the population as a source of news, has stabilized somewhat. Now Ukrainians are slowly returning to their usual online activities – online shopping, weather checks, distance learning, and job search,” said Iryna Voron, Kantar CMeter project manager.
