Microsoft is significantly reducing its business, but not completely leaving Russia

Microsoft is significantly reducing its business in Russia, complaining about economic reasons, but there is no intention of a complete cessation of activities in the aggressor country. Existing customers will continue to receive services, writes Bloomberg.

“As a result of the changes to the economic outlook and the impact on our business in Russia, we have made the decision to significantly scale down our operations in Russia,” said a statement. “We will continue to fulfill our existing contractual obligations with Russian customers while the suspension of new sales remains in effect.”

According to a spokesman for the technology giant, more than 400 employees of Microsoft’s Russian office will be laid off. In March, the company suspended sales of new products and services in Russia, but continued to support existing customers and maintain an office in the country.
